Failure to comply with Board determination.
At the October 2023 BOSSI examinations, a candidate surveyor was found not yet competent in their Town Planning examination for the second time. In accordance with Section 7 of the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information (BOSSI) Determination - Board Examinations, their mentoring surveyor was required to attend a meeting with representatives of the Board. The mentoring surveyor failed to attend this and two subsequent meetings without giving notification.
As a result of their non-attendance at the three scheduled meetings, the Board established that the mentoring surveyor has shown a lack of respect to the Board and the roles and responsibilities required of a mentoring surveyor. As a result, the Board determined that:
- In accordance with Section 7 of the BOSSI Determination - Board Examinations, the Board has removed their ability to be a mentoring surveyor for a minimum period of two years.
- Following this period, the surveyor will be required to meet with representatives of the Board to discuss the requirements for their eligibility to be a mentoring surveyor before potential reinstatement.
