2023 BOSSI Fee UpdateThe Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2017 outlines that CPI will be applied annually to the Schedule 7 fees and deposits. The CPI increase will be 7.3% and are applicable from 1 July 2023. A copy of the new fee and deposit amounts applicable is available on the BOSSI website. Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR)Registered Land Surveyors who wish to work in NSW are required to complete an online notification process to become eligible under AMR. Once a Registered Land Surveyor has completed the online process and is deemed eligible, they may begin working in NSW. BOSSI has created a NSW AMR information pack which holds information for any licenced surveyor to work in NSW under AMR. More information is available on the BOSSI website. Update to Mining Examination Dates and VenuesMining candidates please be aware that the dates and locations for the Mining Assessments for September and October 2023 have changed. The Calendar of events has been updated and can be found on the BOSSI website. 2023 Candidate WorkshopBOSSI hosted the annual candidate workshop at the Kurri Kurri TAFE campus on 19 and 20 May 2023. This year's event saw 46 candidate surveyors and 8 mentoring surveyors interacting and learning the examination and registration process from those in the profession. Thank you to the presenters who covered off the competencies and expectations of the examiners and the Board which included the topics of Urban Cadastral, Rural Cadastral, Strata and Community Title, Spatial Information, Town Planning, Engineering Design and Mining. Board members, examiners and recently registered surveyors led the sessions with candidates and presented the opportunity for candidates and mentors to review and discuss past projects and ask questions about the registration process for land and mining surveyors in NSW. The attendees enjoyed the opportunity to network and engage with fellow candidates, BOSSI Board members & examiners over the two days.
